Oscar beauty and fashion has arguably eclipsed the awards themselves, and we all love catching a glimpse of our favourite stars on the red carpet. This year’s ceremony was no exception and actresses such as Jessica Alba, Nicole Kidman and Cameron Diaz wowed us with some fabulous frocks.

Best Actress winner Marion Cotillard dazzled in a Jean-Paul Gaultier creation, eschewing her usual Chanel. The Devil Wears Prada star Anne Hathaway also sparkled at the ceremony in a beautiful red one-shouldered Marchesa frock with floral detail. Cate Blanchett, nominated for Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress, accessorised her baby bump in a satin Dries Van Noten dress.

However, for many of these women, red carpet glamour doesn’t come naturally. Their glowing appearance on the red carpet is actually due to personal trainers, cleavage facials, intense dieting, stiletto foot surgery, under-arm botox and, of course, last-minute liposuction.

David Kirsch is a Hollywood-based trainer renowned for whipping celebrities into shape. He said: “If their schedule allows, they’ll come in a month beforehand, but on average it’s 2-4 weeks before the big night.” Before prescribing his clients an appropriate fitness regime, David will discuss the dress with them, “I want to make sure the exposed area is at its best, bearing in mind the camera will add a little weight. There can be no jiggle.” David’s clients include Liv Tyler, who worked out with him twice a day before last years Oscar event.

If a star’s schedule will not permit them to exercise, they must turn to good old-fashioned dieting. Helen Mirren confessed that she had been “dieting for a month” before one Oscar ceremony and stars have turned to increasingly bizarre ways to lose weight. Heidi Klum is thought to eat salads covered in vinegar, which suppress her appetite before an event, as well as sniffing grapefruit essence to stop her craving sugar.

If stars can’t lose weight naturally, they turn to last-minute liposuction. Indeed, at a recent Oscar ceremony, one TV star thought she had a bump of fat that spoiled her dress. So, rather than swap her fancy frock for another, she simply called dermatologist Dr Patricia Wexler, who said “it was easier to do a little liposuction than to fix the dress.” Wexler also admits, “I have had designers demanding liposuction for an actress who didn’t look as good in their gown as they wanted her to. One designer rang ten days before the Oscars complaining that it was impossible to change the dress. It was a really low-back dress and the star’s waistline wasn’t smooth enough. I did the lipo and by Oscar night she looked great.”

Another popular pre-Oscar plastic surgery fix is to inject muscle-relaxing injections (Botox) into the armpit to prevent sweat stains. After all, who wants to get a sweat stain on their designer gown? The treatment can last for up to a year and costs around £500. However, as celebrity dermatologist Dr Jessica Wu explains, “When you’re wearing a £10,000 gown it’s worth it to stay dry, plus it saves on the cost of deodorant and dry cleaning.”

If you’re now inspired to get yourself a Hollywood body, why not consider having liposuction in Manchester?

50 Cent, of his real name Curtis Jackson, is an American rapper born in the Queens of New York, July 6 1978.
The origin of his pseudonym, 50 Cent, comes from a New York gangster. When rapper 50 Cent was 8 years old, his mother dies, his father abandons him and rapper 50 Cent begins to sell cocaine to survive, while rapper 50 Cent was brought up by his grand mother. Despite this difficult childhood, rapper 50 Cent hopes to one day have the money and the glory that he has always dream as a rapper.
After a few forth and back in jail, it is 1996 that rapper 50 Cent meets Jam Master Jay of group Run DMC which label is JMJ Records. But the association with Jam Master Jay didn’t last, what is more rapper 50 Cent agreed with another label Trackmasters, already known in New York as a powerful label and having already worked with artists such as NAS or Jay-Z. Label Trackmasters signs rapper 50 Cent, who prepares his first album Power Of The $, with Columbia Records in 1999.
There are some rapper 50 Cent singles with success such as: « Your Life’s on the Line » and « How to Rob». Because of this last single, rapper 50 Cent was almost dead in front of the house of his grand parents in Mai 2000, people shot at him 9 times, and 3 bullets hit him, one in his hand, one in his back and the last one in his face, without physical damages but would have given rapper 50 Cent his style of voice. rapper 50 Cent still keeps sequels of this attack. However, a number of rappers hardly believe him.
Columbia Records, who was about to release rapper 50 Cent album, gives up. The two following years, rapper 50 Cent sets up his own group G-Unit with Tony Yayo as well as Lloyd Banks, two artists with whom rapper 50 Cent will perform in freestyle and mixtapes and afterwards, when Tony Yayo goes in jail, Young Buck joins the group.
In 2002, rapper 50 Cent meets Eminem, who, after listening to some mixtapes of the artist, immediately signs him at Shady/Aftermath (Label of Eminem and Dr. Dre). His first success is the single “Wanksta” which was on the original soundtrack of film 8 Mile.
In 2003, rapper 50 Cent releases his first LP with label Shady/Aftermath, with songs such as “P.I.M.P”, “In Da Club” or “21 Questions”. The success is instant: 800 000 sales the first week. It is also the biggest success of 2003 with nearly 12 million copies sold. The same year, rapper 50 Cent releases his first LP with his group G-Unit, the album Beg For Mercy. Once again the success is there. In 2005, rapper 50 Cent follows with his second LP with Shady/Aftermath, The Massacre, 1,14 million albums are sold in 4 days. It is the sixth best performance of sales ever. Rapper 50 Cent also establishes another record (like the Beatles) with 4 singles in the top 10 sales. The rapper 50 Cent albums are sold at more than 8 million copies.
Rapper 50 Cent then creates his own clothing line named like his group: G-Unit Clothing, signs contracts with Reebok and other brands and set up his own production label, G-Unit Records. In 2006, is released the film about his own life and of same name as his first album with Shady/Aftermath, “Get Rich Or Die Tryin’”. Despite a certain success with the public, this film has been found several weeks in the top 50 of the worse films noted by site IMDB.
Rapper 50 Cent has had a child before becoming famous between two stays in jail, which gives him the wish to stop dealing cocaine and to invest himself in rap music. Rapper 50 Cent has had a relationship with actress Vivica A. Fox. But she was so jealous of the other girls that were around rapper 50 Cent, especially in his video clips, that she leaves rapper 50 Cent.
Rapper 50 Cent counts today as many fans that as many enemies. Indeed, his rap is the object of numerous critics. The real hip hop fans found rapper 50 Cent too commercial, because most of his sounds are made for the clubs, and his rhymes are more and more easy. What is more, rapper 50 Cent put some rappers back, especially New Yorkers: Jadakiss, Ja Rule, Fat Joe, Nas, Sheek Louch and Styles P. Rapper 50 Cent doesn’t hesitate to provoke and criticize them in his titles such as “Piggy Bank” from album “The Massacre” (2005). His power and his notoriety allowed rapper 50 Cent to compromise the career of rapper Ja Rule, with whom rapper 50 Cent was in serious conflict.
Since a few months, rapper 50 Cent is in conflict with rapper The Game (Los Angeles), protected by Dr. Dre.
The situation is therefore very complicated, it is one of the very few times that two artists from the same labels are in open conflict. The 2 rappers have collaborated together in the past and they have even sold quite a bit of their singles « How We Do » and « Hate It Or Love It ». The Game has denied on the radio that 50 Cent has contributed to the success of its album “The Documentary” (2005) while according to rapper 50 Cent, it is thanks to him that the album did sales.
Despite all these problems, rapper 50 Cent can still count on a good number of producers such as Dr. Dre, Cool & Dre, Scott Storch, Eminem, and Havoc, with whom rapper 50 Cent entertains good relationships. The rapper from the Queens has also many friends in the rap since he kept signing talents like on his label G-Unit records, which has in no time become very big. As a result, rapper 50 Cent has already signed and collaborated with Mobb Deep, M.O.P., Ma$e, Spider Loc, R&B singer Olivia… Finally rapper 50 Cent still entertains good, not to say very good relations with Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo and Young Buck (the 3 initial members of G-Unit), as well as with Jay-Z and Missy Elliott. Rapper 50 Cent belongs to the Crips, a street gang present in Los Angeles, and a little bit everywhere in North America.
If you are a rapper 50 Cent fan and love to listen to rapper 50 Cent, then you can customize your cell phone by downloading rapper 50 Cent ringtones. Ringtone Jam Jam Famous Singers has it all: 50 Cent music, 50 Cent lyrics, 50 Cent pictures, 50 Cent videos, 50 Cent songs, 50 Cent g unit, 50 Cent wallpapers, 50 Cent news, 50 Cent album, 50 Cent biography, , 50 Cent posters, 50 Cent movies and 50 Cent ringtones.

Cynthia Lennon starts her autobiographical tale reflecting on the death of her famous ex-husband, John Lennon and within the first chapter reveals two insights into John’s personality that haven’t really been discussed before in books about the Beatles. It’s a catchy start to a heartwarming, sweet, yet tragic tale.

As the book starts, Cynthia is a teenager beginning art college. Shortly thereafter she encounters John Lennon. The two make an unlikely couple. She was raised in a nice neighborhood to be a “good” girl and John Lennon is a teenager rebel with only one cause - rock and roll.

Cynthia points out they had several things in common in the book - they were both short sighted and bonded over losing their parents when they were seventeen. (Cynthia lost her father when she was seventeen and John lost his mother.) Soon, Cynthia and John embark on a relationship. Her love is what John needs. She’s a steady constant in his life which is filled with uncertainty.

Cynthia is there before John and the Beatles make it famous. She talks of their humble beginnings and John’s family. We learn John’s Aunt Mimi, the woman who raised him, is a very totalitarian matriarch who very rarely showed John small, simple, loving gestures. John also has two younger sisters who adore him, Jacqui and Julia. There are so many sides to John. He’s in love, yet has a ferocious jealous side to him. He can be kind and tender, yet John dislikes confrontation. An example of this is how Pete Best is told to leave the band. Brian Epstein breaks the news to Pete and John never sees him again.

Cynthia and John had been with each other four years before their son Julian is conceived. John marries her right before the Beatles begin to take off. As the Beatles ride the wave of fame, Cynthia is by John’s side. It isn’t easy for the couple, but their love gets them through.

The book shifts when Cynthia begins to talk of John’s drug use. It’s his use of drugs that drives a wedge between them. John’s decline and destruction is sad to read about in such a personal way. The way he cuts Cynthia and Julian out of his life is quick, deliberate, precise, and very hurtful. Cynthia must find her own way with little financial support from John.

It’s hard to put this book down. The beginning draws you in and the reader barely has a chance to catch their breath. Happiness quickly turns to misery, pain, and despair much in the same manner as the Beatles overwhelming success turns sour at the end of the sixties.

Cynthia offers fresh insights on a musical history that has been practically hashed to death by the number of books written by the Beatles. Her thoughts and impression on Yoko are not put out there in a mean-spirited way - instead Cynthia presents the facts as is and lets the reader come to their conclusions. This is a wonderful read for those who are true fans of the Beatles and John Lennon.

What we now refer to as classic rock from the 1960’s and 1970’s was very influential back in the day. Many of the songs have been able to stand the test of time, even with new genres of music taking over. There are musicians from these periods of time that have become larger than life. Even though their music is decades old they are still recognized for their contributions to the world of music.

Without a doubt one of the biggest bands of the 1960’s was the invasion of the Beatles. They brought a craze to the world of rock and roll that hadn’t quite been embraced yet. With all of the television productions at that time too they were all over the news and on dance shows. It seemed as if everyone had what was referred to as Beatle Mania going strong.

The Beatles came from Britain, and their style of music had a significant impact on the future of rock music in the United States. Such bands as the Rolling Stones were able to capitalize on the success of the Beatles and make a name for themselves as well. Rock stars became a legend in their own right during the 1960’s with flocks of fans following their every move.

Keith Emerson brought plenty of great music to the world in the 1970’s. He also added something that left the crowds awestruck - the use of pyrotechnics in his live shows. He also helped to pave the way for what became known as progressive rock in the 1970’s. These were bands that heavily relied upon the keyboard sounds in their music.

In the late 1960’s and early 1970’s the use of electronics were heavily introduced to the world of rock music. Bands including Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Deep Purple use them successfully to develop a very unique sound that has immediately a hit. They incorporated synthesizers, foot pedals for drum sets, and even echoes in the background of their lyrics.

Some of the classic rock bands in the 1970’s are still out there today. Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, and Kiss are just a few of them. They brought to the stage their elaborate costumes, big hard, platform shoes for men, and of course make up. It was definitely a new style for the world of rock music. In fact, it was to lay the foundation for what would be referred to as the Hair Bands of the 1980’s.

If you still love the classic rock music from the 1960’s and 1970’s there are quite a few radio stations that play it. Some of them will be local channels while others are on satellite radio. There are also CD compilations of the top artists from these two decades. Take a stroll down memory lane while listening to many of those timeless tunes any time you feel like it.

There are times, in rare instances, that a fad turns a corner and becomes something more. The Beatles are a good example of this phenomenon. They invaded U.S. soil with their long hair and rock music. Many parents hoped that they were a fad that would eventually fade away, but instead, the Beatles went on to influence music for decades. The Beatles became a cultural icon and set the pace for rock music, as we now know it.

Another cultural icon is the Ford Mustang. One of the very first muscle cars, the Mustang set the tone for performance and handling and gave car makers new goals to reach if they wanted to compete. When the Ford Mustang was unveiled April 1964, other car manufacturers were sent on a mad dash to create their own versions of high performance cars just to keep up with the Mustang. However, the Pony car was in a class by itself - and still is. What the Beatles did for rock music, the Ford Mustang did for cars. The Mustang set a standard by which all other muscle cars would be compared.

From the moment that the Ford Mustang rolled off the production line, it was America’s sweetheart. The Ford Mustang launch is considered one of the most successful product launches in automotive history. The unveiling created considerable excitement among the American pubic.

So much so that within the first 18 months more than one million units were sold. Of course, with so much excitement about a car that is as American as baseball and apple pie, there are bound to be legends surrounding it. Tales of men sleeping in their Mustangs at the dealership for several days while waiting for their checks to clear are just a taste of the stories that surround this American classic.

Ford’s marketing campaign was not only genius for its day, but it was also one of the most profitable in history. The day before unveiling the Mustang, Ford ran Mustang commercials on the three major networks, ABC, NBC, and CBS, at 9:30 p.m. This created the buzz about the car that would eventually lead to a buying frenzy. The following day, April 17, 1964, the Ford Mustang was unveiled at the World’s Fair in Flushing Meadows, New York.

It was unveiled at the Ford Pavilion and was introduced by Henry Ford II when he introduced Walt Disney’s Magic Skyway ride. On the ride, the guests rode in Ford vehicles as they rode through history. Moreover, the frenzy began.

Early Mustangs were available with four engine options. One was the 289 cubic inch High Performance V 8. That bad boy kicked it with 271 horses. As word got out, dealerships were overwhelmed with people who wanted to be among the groundbreakers who owned a Ford Mustang.

History was made as a Wimbledon White convertible rolled off the production line and became the very first Mustang. It had a 260 cubic inch V 8. The now historic VIN was 5F08F100001. The car toured the United States, acting as a promotional tool for Ford until an airline captain from Canada, Stanley Tucker, acquired it.

Mustang 5F08F100001 spent some time in Canada with captain Tucker, but then in 1966 the executive director of the Henry Ford Museum, Donald Shelly, requested acquisition of it. Shelly stated in a letter that it was believed that the Ford Mustang would become a milestone car in the automotive industry. It was believed, he stated, that other car makers would use the Ford Mustang as a standard of measure and it would set the tone for other high performance, high power cars. They were right.

Great Guitarists Who Play (Or Played) The Fender Stratocaster Electric Guitar

  • Jeff Beck - Played guitar for The Yardbirds among many other projects. Beck played a Les Paul up until 1975 when he switched tot he Fender Strat.

Are you a music fan? Well, if you had live on those times where LPs and Vinyl Records are the in thing then you can relate to this article.

Recently, there came a lot of response from teens about how was life back then when we don’t have iPods or Thumbs. To elaborate more on the past, things had been so good because there is no such thing as digital piracy that hijacks our music industry nowadays.

Those times had been so damned crazy about Beatles and Elvis Presley on his stunning loss of balance towards his career was destroying the Beatles fame, maybe because of envy or pointing the blame on the fab four on his misfortunes. He even allegedly told then President Richard Nixon that the Fab four are airing anti-Americanism in UK. Hence, John Lennon was spied by Secret Agents. Imagine the hysteria where music and politics collide. Those are the years of cold war.

East Germany was on communist’s rule and they had been listening to old Russian records which meant they lag behind on what’s on top of the billboard charts. By now those East European countries who had experienced the Iron Curtain Rule of former Soviet Empire had been recently splurging on records that they had missed out.

The greatest deal of all on what makes vinyl records unforgettable is that they have the novelty that triggers the senses to return back all past memories alive again. It pays to play Nat King Cole’s “Unforgettable”.

Jay Dy is a collector of rare vinyls or collectible records who owns a wide array of old vinyls and stuffs. As far as hard to find music records or simply rare records are your concern. It is best to recommend you to my rare vinyl records website.
