Have you ever opened up a magazine and said “gosh I wish I looked that pretty” or “man I wish I had that body?” More times than not we all can raise our hands and say yes. However for many people it goes beyond just admiring the stars or athletes we see on the television or in movies. For some people they are so consumed by the appearances of the stars that they lose sight of their own individuality.
Just take a moment right now and stop and think. Do you really want to be like the stars that you see on television because you like the way they look or is it the fact that they have fame and more pocket change than you do that you desire to be “just like them?” More times than not we may want a few body parts like a star (i.e. Angelina Jolie’s lips, Madonna’s arms or Beyonce’s hips) but it is less about their looks we really desire and more about the money that they make which makes them more “attractive” to us. The truth is having extra money that stretches beyond paying bills would make anyone look pretty or handsome. However, have you ever stopped to wonder that even the stars have people they wished they looked like-people just like you and I?
Probably not as the reality is that so many of us look at the flaws that we physically have that we fail to realize the positive assets that we each posses. I am sure that some of the stars wished that they had your hips, thighs, eyes, arms, legs etc. as they pass you by. I am sure that if one of them were to come up to you and tell you how good you looked or how beautiful you were you would believe them more so than if a relative, friend or significant other told you the EXACT same thing. Yet a movie star or athlete or an individual you “think” looks prettier than you should never have to tell you how beautiful you are in order for you to like yourself. This is your job as you are the most beautiful person in the world as you were uniquely made since birth. So stop looking at the outward appearance only and start looking at the total package as you got it!
Finally, just remember that you are a beautiful person inside and out and there is no one else in this world like you. Stop comparing yourself to the people you see in magazines or on the movie screens as they are no different than you. Learn to appreciate yourself for who you are as you are truly wonderful.
